Bereavement: A Contemplative Approach
with Sensei Robert Chodo Campbell
Eight Tuesdays, September 19th – November 7th, 2017
Program Fee: $325
Grief is one of the most common shared human experiences. Loss comes in many ways, sometimes unexpectedly, sometimes tragically. During these times of crisis, transition, or loss when we are at our most vulnerable, we need support, understanding and tools to navigate our grief.
Led by NYZCCC Co-Founder Sensei Robert Chodo Campbell, we will use various techniques such as meditation and experiential exercises to approach the deep process of bereavement. Through discussion, poetry, creative writing and experiential exploration, we learn to more easefully traverse life’s precariousness.
We will learn to use intuitive wisdom and creativity to relate to suffering and overwhelming emotions in a new way, allowing ourselves to hold sorrow with compassion.
Grief can cause great suffering, but it can also provide a powerful opportunity for great transformation. This eight-week workshop is an opportunity to gain perspective and to begin the healing process.
Participants are asked to commit to the full eight-week workshop.
