Living the Zen Precepts is wisdom in action — the natural expression of a compassionate and awakened heart. The Precepts are not given to control or limit living, but to encourage the fullest flowering of our life.
Through study, meditation, and discussion we will deepen our understanding of our true nature and discover skillful functioning in our relationships and in the world. The Precepts are based on the Buddha’s awakening to reality and the inherent ethical wisdom found in discovering the impermanence, ego-lessness, and interdependent origination of all things.
