Zen Study Opportunities
Thursday, March 8th, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
This class will explore how to integrate three principal pillars of Zen (Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha) into a dynamic and living home practice. The focus will be on making practice intimate, as well as practical.
Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
The third of three in the Ways of Zen Series, this class will focus on New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care's teaching lineage, the role of ritual, chanting, ceremony, rites of passage, and how to be of service in the world.
Thursday, February 15th, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
This class will cover the forms of practice at NYZCCC. It will include a review of the basics of Zazen and the postures of body, breath and mind, as well as, shikantaza and koan, zendo procedures, the role of dokusan and the teacher-student relationship.
Friday, February 16th, 2018 from 9am to 4pm Tangaryo is the initiation ceremony for becoming a formal Zen Student at the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care under the guidance of Sensei Robert Chodo Campbell or Sensei Koshin Paley Ellison.
