Assistant to Guiding Teachers
Part Time
20 Hours/Week

The New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care is seeking a dedicated individual to support the work of NYZCCC’s Guiding Teachers.

Duties and Responsibilities
-Fields questions from prospective students about classes, workshops and retreats
-Schedules prospective student interviews for select classes
-Coordinates and attends select information sessions
-Imagines and facilitates graduation celebrations
-Coordinates clinical placement as needed
-Works with Guiding Teachers and mentors to update content for syllabi and binders
-Supports Guiding Teachers on class and teacher evaluations
-Oversees/manages calendars for Guiding Teachers
-Creates content from Guiding Teachers’ teachings for social media
-Researching, drafting and organizes for new projects/courses
-Schedules Guiding Teachers’ one-on-one meetings
-Coordinates and schedules travel for Guiding Teachers
-Collects and identifies Guiding Teachers’ receipts by event/expenditure and reconciles with bookkeeper
-Work closely with Coordinator and Guiding Teachers on three annual retreats
-Manages and fields inquiries related to Guiding Teachers’ work and engagements
-Assists in ensuring Zendo is appropriately set and re-set
-Reports to the Guiding Teachers

Proven Skill Set
-Collaborative, proactive, organized, patient, diplomatic
-Tech savvy with Gmail, Google suite, Microsoft office, Excel, Salesforce, and social media
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Friendly, kind, thoughtful and diplomatic
-Capacity to work effectively in a dynamic environment
-Flexible and responsive to change
-Becomes knowledgeable/conversant about our classes, trainings, and workshops

Compensation: Part-time salary, plus select retreats, classes, and workshops

Engagement Coordinator (Front Desk)
Part Time
20 Hours/Week

Duties and Responsibilities
-Answer phone and greet guests and students in gracious and friendly manner
-Knowledgeable of weekly schedule of classes and events; alert and conversant to changes and needs
-Anticipates and ensures Zendo is appropriately set and re-set as needed
-Responds to meeting requests, and schedules accordingly
-Tracks and orders office supplies
-Ensures space is neat and tidy
-Reports to education administrator

-Proactively anticipate needs, asking questions and making suggestions to support and enhance the day-to-day work of the Zen Center
-Warm, friendly, helpful, welcoming demeanor
-Excellent writing and verbal skills with guiding teachers, colleagues, visitors and students
-Proven organizational skills
-Adept with: Gmail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, database systems

Compensation: Part-time salary and select classes/workshops
