Join us for a special opportunity to sit Zazen and receive a dharma talk from our dharma friend Taiga Ito, International Teacher of Soto Shu and Assistant Director of Soto Zen Buddhism International Center.
All are welcome, in person and online participation available.
Taiga Sensei will speak about Keizan Zenji, considered one of the two founders of the Soto Zen School in Japan, alongside Dogen Zenji. Taiga Sensei will also discuss a dharma pilgrimage tour in Japan next April (Eiheji and Sojiji: April 21st ~ 23rd).
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Taiga Ito trained at Daihonzan Sojiji, one of the head monasteries of Soto Shu (Soto Zen in Japan). In 2016, Taiga Ito became Kokusaifukyoshi (international teacher of Soto Shu). He served as the secretary of the Soto Zen Buddhism International Center between 2016 and 2018, where he has taken the role of Assistant Director since 2019. Soto Zen Buddhism International Center is the affiliated office from Japanese Soto Zen HQ (Shumucho). The main activities of International Center are dissemination work.
Taiga visits Soto Zen centers all over the world, giving dharma talks, teaching zazen classes, and conducting ceremonies.
