Contemplative Care Retreat 2023

TURNING FEAR INTO COURAGEOUS COMPASSION

AT THE GARRISON INSTITUTE IN GARRISON, NY

About the Retreat

Our Contemplative Care Retreat is an invitation to connect with others, deepen your practice, and begin the work of transforming fear into compassion. Through meditation, dharma talks, personal meetings with teachers, and experiential learning exercises, we will consider together how to care for one another while continuing to cultivate our own unique expressions of joy, courage, compassion, and connection.

Practicing at Garrison

The retreat is held at the Garrison Institute, a beautiful 95-acre site overlooking the banks of the Hudson River in New York. The tranquil, park-like setting, the gardens, the gazebo on a bluff by the river, and the many walking paths together create a natural setting for contemplation.Supported by simple, quiet accommodations, a kitchen known for its nourishing meals, and an inspirational meditation hall, we will come together to build a community of care.

Practicing in Community

The Contemplative Care Retreat is an invitation to be together in community. This is an opportunity to learn from one another.  For alumni of our Foundations in Contemplative Care program or Contemplative Medicine Fellowship, the annual retreat is allows us  to reconnect, meet other practitioners, and nourish your practice within community.
