In the middle of March 2024, our Guiding Teachers Koshin Sensei and Chodo Sensei spoke at the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion Ground Rounds at Harvard Medical School.
Their lecture, Living Wide Awake: Turning Fear Into Compassionate Action, covered cultivating a posture and mind that encourages spaciousness, recognizing how emotions affect relationships, and reaffirming personal values through daily actions.
In the clip above, Koshin and Chodo discuss the quality of giving and receiving from the perspective of the Zen Buddhist Precepts and how making simple shifts in the way we show up in the world can have profound effects on those we care for.
They also discuss how important it is to consider the meaning we put behind the words we think we understand.
