Active Listening and Communication

Active Listening

with Dr Leslye Noyes, MDiv, PsyD
Saturday, December 8th, 2018 | 10:00am to 3:00pm

In this workshop, participants will learn how to listen to the symbolic communication of conversation and dialogue. Using Carl Jung’s concepts of archetypes and the unconscious, we will learn Jung’s approach to material, including stories and narrative.

Learning to listen to the layers of communication through images, story and narrative deepens our contact with moment to moment awareness and guides us to the depths of another person’s reality. Listening actively offers to others the experience of feeling deeply understood.

This workshop is didactic as well as experiential. Through group demonstrations, participants can learn to hear others more deeply and practice translating communication symbolically. Participants are encouraged to bring examples from their clinical settings.
