Sara Meltzer has served on the NYZC board since 2022 and currently serves as Vice-Chair. She found her way to the Zen Center at a turning point in her life, amid a career transition, drawn in through friendship and a deep desire to serve, support, and collaborate in a meaningful way.
In 2022, Sara completed her master’s in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling through the Department of Applied Psychology at NYU’s Steinhardt School. She is now a licensed psychotherapist, and in 2024 launched her own private practice, where she maintains a robust caseload of individual and couples clients.
Before her career in mental health, Sara spent over a decade in the contemporary art world, working closely with galleries and visual arts nonprofits. She owned a contemporary art gallery for more than thirteen years, representing an international roster of emerging and mid-career artists.
