This survey of Zen history focuses on the life and teachings of 13th century Soto Zen founder and celebrated writer, poet and philosopher, Eihei Dogen. Today, Dogen is considered one of the world’s most remarkable religious thinkers and the questions that drove him are at the heart of contemporary Zen practice.
